21 reviewsJulie - is your willow weaving expert will lead you through various techniques of how to create a one of kind, bird feeder, suitable to add fat balls.
She’ll also share more about the various varieties of willow, and how to harvest and prepare willow for weaving on your own. We'll explore the surrounnding woodland and area to forage for natural decorations for your feeder.
This is a really fun workshop for all and suitable for children!
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
All equipment and materials needed to make your bird feeder, it's likely you will be able to make 2!
An understanding of the use of willow weaving, with skills and techniques in crafting with willow
Knowledge about the ecological credentials of willow and how to choose natural materials when out foraging for your own
Teas, Coffees and an ice cream
This course is suitable for those with no previous experience, you’ll need a little bit of hand strength and a little bit of patience in your creations but it’s all worth it.

From the M6, follow the A6 for Garstang / Glasson Dock / Fleetwood. Take the first right-hand turning signposted to Cockerham / Glasson Dock. Continue until the T-junction, then turn right again. At the next t-junction, turn right again. Then turn left into Hillam Lane. Pattys Farm Barn is at the very end of Hillam Lane.
It’s best if you have a car to get around and about to truly appreciate the scenic Lancashire countryside. Situated on the edge of Morecambe Bay, along with being close to Lancaster, Preston and Blackpool. Patty’s Barn is ideally located for your stay.
The closest train station is Lancaster, a 15 minute drive and only a 5 minute walk from Lancaster Visitor Information Centre, Storey Institute.
The Bus No. 89 can be caught from Lancaster bus station to Cockerham every hour.
