A literature development agency that organise Lancashire's annual literature festival. Established in 1978, the annual festival has been running every year since 1979, making it one of the oldest literature festivals in the UK.
Litfest develops writers, engages readers and audiences, and celebrates literary excellence. This is acheived through the festival and a range of other publishing, development and participatory projects that have positioned the organisation at the heart of Lancashire's cultural and creative activity.
Litfest takes place in The Storey on Thursday and Friday, and in The Sanctuary at Lancaster Library on Saturday and Sunday.

Exit the M6 at J34 (Lancaster) head south on Caton Rd for Lancaster City Centre. At fork keep left onto Bulk Rd, then left onto A6 Thurnham street (Lancaster one way). At Penny Street turn right then keep left. At Waterstones bookshop turn left onto Meeting House Lane. The Storey is on your right. Parking available at Parksafe or Dallas Rd.
Litfest is based in The Storey Creative Industries Centre, Lancaster, adjacent to Lancaster Castle just 2 mins walk from the Lancaster Railway station and 5 mins walk from Lancaster bus station.
