The Council of The Southport Palette Club are pleased to be holding their seventh Invitation Exhibition on The Landing at The Atkinson, with all exhibiting artists local to Sefton.
The Palette Club was formed in 1921 by a group of artists, including Percy Lancaster and Philip Connard RA, with the sole intention to promote an annual exhibition. The bond between The Atkinson Art Gallery and The Palette Club was formed at this time when the curator of The Atkinson, H.P. Hugill, became the first chairman of the group. As a longstanding partner of The Atkinson, The Southport Palette Club are proud to support the annual Sefton Open exhibition by selecting local artists to display work. This seventh Invitation Exhibition presents artists who were selected to exhibit in the 2025 Sefton Open.
The Southport Palette Club are excited that 2026 will be their 100th exhibition, due to missed years during the War and lockdown. They are aiming to sign up 100 patrons for 100 years. If you would like to become an integral supporter of local artists please contact them.
