Meet the Housekeeper in the Victorian kitchen

Explore the Victorian kitchen of Gawthorpe Hall the heart of the home, where the housekeeper is in charge.

Discover Gawthorpe Hall's basement kitchen and meet the housekeeper. She can tell you what sort of food the family might have eaten, how it would have been prepared and what was cooked when King George V came to visit in 1913.

Discover the Victorian's love of time-saving kitchen gadgets, smell the spices and herbs that scent the air and have a go at crushing some in the pestle and mortar.

And you can take away a Victorian recipe to try at home!

Included in admission to the Hall, no booking required. £7 adults, children FREE.

This event is in the Victorian kitchen in the basement, down 1 flight of stairs inside and flat access from outside.

Gawthorpe Hall is part of Lancashire County Museum Service and Lancashire County Council's Cultural Services.
