This May half term, young imaginations are invited into three days of inventive theatre and visual storytelling workshops inspired by literature, nature and the art of performance. Led by professional artists and makers, each day blends drama, design, craft and creative play in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
Children can attend individual workshops or join us for the full three-day creative journey at a discounted rate.
Tuesday 26 May
Wild Kingdoms: A Theatre of Curious Creatures
Inspired by the beloved story Where the Wild Things Are, this imaginative workshop invites children to step into a world of magnificent monsters, moonlit forests and wild adventure.
Participants will create regal crowns fit for a Wild King or Queen, design and build their own curious creature to take home, and explore movement, storytelling and performance through a playful Wild Things Cabaret finale.
A joyful day of theatre-making, costume, creativity and bold imagination.
Wednesday 27 May
The Little Land: Miniature Worlds & Hidden Stories
Using poetry, puppetry and visual theatre, children will journey into The Little Land — an enchanting miniature world where humans become no bigger than insects and ordinary things become extraordinary landscapes.
Participants will create handcrafted puppets and build their own beautifully detailed diorama world inside a keepsake box, developing stories and characters inspired by tiny creatures, hidden gardens and imagined worlds.
A thoughtful and immersive day of storytelling, making and wonder.
Please bring a box approximately the size of a standard shoe box.
Thursday 28 May
The Secret Garden Laboratory
Our final workshop explores growth, transformation and imagination through words, theatre and botanical design.
Children will invent strange and spectacular new plants, writing poems and stories inspired by nature and fantasy before bringing their creations to life through sculpture, colour and decoration. Each participant will design their own expressive plant and pot to treasure and take home.
An uplifting day of creativity celebrating imagination in full bloom.
