Struggling to find direction, an American actor takes on an unusual role with a Japanese agency that hires stand-ins to play parts in other people's lives. As he immerses himself in his clients' worlds, what begins as performance gradually turns into something more meaningful. Forming genuine connections, he is forced to confront the blurred line between reality and fiction—ultimately rediscovering a sense of purpose and belonging.
