Merseyside hero Ian Prowse is taking his full explosive 6 piece band out on the road this autumn for their biggest UK & Ireland tour yet, Ian will be celebrating his 11th album 'No Names' to be release this Summer.
Ian is fresh off the back of 3 UK tours as very special guest with Elvis Costello, as well as recent tours opening for The Levellers & The Wonder Stuff.
In 2025 Ian celebrated 20 years of Does This Train Stop On Merseyside with a documentary film as well as performing the song with the Philharmonic Orchestra. He was also inducted into the Liverpool Legends Hall Of Fame in November.
His first band Pele signed to Polydor Records and promptly had a Number 1 hit in South Africa with Megalomania. The band constantly hit the road winning a huge cult live following, completing 8 headline UK tours. They were also opening act for with The Pogues, Del Amitri on their 1992 sell out tours. The first 3 Pele singles hit the BBC Radio 1 playlist.
Ian then formed Amsterdam who had John Peel weeping live on air every time he played the classic Does This Train Stop On Merseyside, which was then covered by legend Christy Moore and taken to Number 1 in the Irish LP charts. Amsterdam signed to London indie Beat Crazy, their first single crashing into the top 40 at no.32.
Often referred to as the 'Scouse Springsteen' Ian's incendiary live show has wowed them at Reading, Glastonbury, Beautiful Days & Kendal Calling, he is very excited to be back in Southport playing all the favourite's from his entire career.
