One of British theatre's greatest dramatists, Edward Bond, passed away in 2024. In this rehearsed reading, Foundland Theatre present one of Bond's finest late works." Have I None". In a world turned upside down, Bond tells of a couple's absurd obsession with domesticity, suddenly interrupted by the appearance of a stranger with a past which threatens to destroy them both.
Jaqueline Phillips -
Twice winner of Rochdale Literature Festival Poetry Prize, my poetry has been published both online and in several anthologies. I have performed at venues throughout the north west, have received many excellent reviews and a recording of my work is available on bandcamp. More recently I have turned my hand to playwriting, working with narratives concerning relationships around conflicting perspectives about a single event: what is that makes us human, what do we share, why are we in conflict?
Writing has always been a part of who I am, but I also enjoy the performance element. When the opportunity arose to be a part of this rehearsed reading of Edward Bond's 'Have I None', I leapt at it. Edward Bond's plays always make me question and think. They are never easy. His vision of the world both challenges and stimulates audiences ; and within that he has his own unique theatrical language. I am truly excited to be a part of this event.
