Wyre Council’s seasonal dog ban on designated bathing beaches will come into effect from Friday 1 May and will remain in place until Sunday 30 September.

While dogs are welcome in many of Wyre’s outdoor spaces, the restriction helps ensure bathing beaches remain clean and safe for residents and visitors during the peak season. Clear signage and flags are in place to help identify restricted areas.

Affected Areas

  • Cleveleys Beach: From FBKafe (also known as Naimos) to the Wyre/Blackpool boundary
  • Marine Beach, Fleetwood: Opposite the beach huts near the slipway to Central car park

There are still plenty of beach areas across the borough where dogs can be exercised during this period. The restrictions do not apply to the promenade; however, all dogs must be kept on a lead.

Dog fouling will not be tolerated anywhere in the borough. Dog control orders are in place to protect Wyre’s outdoor spaces, and failure to comply may result in a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).

Wyre Council appreciates the co operation of dog owners in helping to maintain clean, safe, and enjoyable beaches for everyone.
