Fleetwood will be welcoming free outdoor yoga sessions this summer, with a one‑hour class suitable for all abilities, taking place every Sunday morning at 9:30am from 3 May until mid-September.

Park Yoga is a national charity delivering free outdoor community yoga in nature across more than 60 towns and cities in England on Sunday mornings. Its aim is to bring communities together, helping people meet new friends while practising yoga in a welcoming, inclusive and relaxing environment.

The sessions also support Wyre Moving More, Wyre Council’s commitment to helping residents move more every day, improving physical and mental wellbeing through accessible, inclusive activities that fit easily into everyday life.

No previous yoga experience or knowledge is required to join in. All sessions are beginner‑level and suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Cathi Farrer‑Mitchell, Director of Park Yoga, said:

“As a charity we want Park Yoga to be as accessible as possible, there’s no need to book and it’s free to attend.

Last year 31% of our participants had never done yoga before, so you won’t be alone if you’re new to yoga. You don’t need any specific equipment, just a yoga mat if you have one, but if not a blanket or towel works perfectly.

Come along and give it a go, you won’t regret it!”

Park Yoga Fleetwood takes place in Marine Hall Gardens, Fleetwood, with plenty of free parking available nearby.

Classes will proceed in light rain. If the weather is particularly wet, participants will be informed of any cancellation at least one hour in advance via the Park Yoga Fleetwood Facebook page and the Park Yoga website.

Councillor Lynne Bowen, Leisure, Health & Community Engagement Portfolio Holder said:

“We are delighted to welcome Park Yoga to Fleetwood this May. It’s a fantastic way to support both physical and mental wellbeing while making the most of our outdoor spaces.

Marine Hall Gardens is a beautiful setting, and it’s wonderful to see free, inclusive activities that encourage residents of all ages and abilities to come together and be active.”
