Garstang Walking Festival is back for 2026 and tickets are on sale now!

Taking place from 2 to 10 May, the festival offers up to 50 walks for all ages and abilities, making it a fantastic way to enjoy the season with friendly, knowledgeable walk leaders. Organised by Friends of Garstang Walking Festival and supported by Wyre Council, the walks span Garstang, rural Wyre, the Forest of Bowland, and Morecambe Bay.

Highlights include the three-day Wyre Way Challenge, easy access walks, family-friendly activities, evening strolls, wildlife walks, heritage rambles, tramper trails and dog-friendly trails. With so much variety, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

To showcase Garstang Walking Festival and help people find out more about walking in the area, the Friends of Garstang Walking Festival are hosting a series of ‘Meet the Festival Team’ sessions at Garstang Library on:

  • Saturday 14 February - 10am – 12.30pm
  • Saturday 28 February 10am - 12:30pm 
  • Saturday 14 March - 10am – 12.30pm 
  • Thursday 16 April - 5pm – 7pm
  • Saturday 25 April - 10am - 12:30pm 

Meet the fantastic walk leaders and volunteers who will be on hand to answer all your questions about the festival, including what’s on and how to book.

Councillor Lynne Bowen, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement at Wyre Council, said:

Last year we saw a significant rise in ticket sales, and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more people to enjoy Wyre’s great outdoors this year.”

    really pleased to see garstang walking festival back for 2026, the wyre way challenge sounds a bit brutal but tempting. i’m hoping to get on one of the wildlife walks and maybe an evening stroll if tickets don’t vanish too fast. also, that casino link spam in the comments is getting tiring; i clicked https://dreamcatcherlive.org/ once thinking it was festival info and it clearly wasn’t. i’ve also seen https://crazytimeonline.org/ and https://boom-city.org/ pasted around in similar threads, which just clutters things up. the meet the festival team sessions at the library are a great idea, i’ll try to make the april one after work.
