Grab your ticket for a season of unforgettable nights of laughter, entertainment and applause as the Dukes announce a Spring/Summer season packed with the finest theatre, comedy and cinema.
Audiences are invited to adventure into a world of thrills, comedy and excitement with the Dukes’ diverse selection of theatre shows. This new season brings back some familiar faces with the iconic imitating the dog touring War of The Worlds, HER Productions bringing 3 impeccable titles with Twelfth Night, Private Lives and The Angry Brigade. Other incredible titles include I, Daniel Blake by Northern Stage and A Long Day’s Journey Into The Night by Elysium Theatre, as well as And Then Come the Nightjars from Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds and Sherlock Holmes: The Hunt for Moriarty by Blackeyed Theatre. This is truly a year of hard-hitting drama that should not be missed.
For those wanting to explore brand-new work before it takes the country by storm then the Dukes’ Moor Space is the place to be. This intimate 80 seater venue puts audiences at the centre of the action while providing a platform for the next rising stars of theatre. This season sees La’al Marra Productions present Soaked, a witty and sharp exploration of the impact excessive drinking has on relationships and self-worth. Emmerson & Ward return to Moor Space with their latest work Rum, and have partnered with Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity to create a powerful new play that wrestles with masculinity, mental health and addiction.
The Dukes has a legacy of showcasing Britain’s best and biggest comedians and this season is no different. With Taskmaster contestants Phil Ellis & Ania Magliano taking to the stage as well as comedy legend Ruby Wax performing at Ashton Hall at Lancaster Town Hall. Other names include; Jen Brister, Rob Auton and Matt Parker. Those seeking a comedy stage show should not miss Looking For Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood by The Cabaret Geek.
Families can enjoy enchanting storytelling with beloved titles such as The Three Little Pigs by Stuff & Nonsense Theatre, The Wind in The Willows produced by Three Left Feet and Julia Donaldson’s The Detective Dog by Tiny & Tall Productions. For tiny ( and not so tiny) gamers WIFI Wars is the perfect interactive night out, this Award-Winning must-see show sees players play as a team and against each other, perfect for anyone who enjoys quizzes and games!
