Three Michelin-starred Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in Lancashire has opened Atelier Hearth – a new private dining experience in collaboration with world-renowned single malt Scotch whisky, The Macallan.

Named for its dual spirit – atelier, the maker’s workshop, and hearth, the centre of the home – Atelier Hearth offers an intimate setting for special occasions within Moor Hall’s Grade II* listed manor house, accommodating up to 12 guests. Conceptualised by Chef Patron Mark Birchall, the space will reflect Moor Hall’s hallmark provenance and artistry, with bespoke menus guided by the rhythms of the five acre estate, where ingredients are grown, foraged and preserved just steps from the kitchen.

Designed in collaboration with local craftspeople, the private dining room retains Moor Hall’s original beams, windows and hearth – with a circular oak table at its centre – sketched by Birchall and handmade by carpenter Steve Hudson. Softly lit and elegantly pared-back, the room balances heritage with natural materials and precise detailing, in keeping with the restaurant’s ethos.

The launch marks the beginning of a partnership between Moor Hall and The Macallan, bringing together two institutions united by a shared dedication to craft, storytelling and the pursuit of excellence. For almost two centuries, The Macallan has balanced innovation with tradition – a philosophy that mirrors Mark Birchall’s own of transforming simple elements into something extraordinary. Together, they will add a new dimension to the dining experience at Moor Hall’s Atelier Hearth, offering access to rare releases from The Macallan Red Collection – single malts aged between 40 and 78 years – alongside hosted tastings led by The Macallan Brand Ambassadors, available on request.

Over the coming year, the partnership will continue to extend beyond the private dining room through a series of immersive dinners and events celebrating the meeting of whisky and gastronomy at Moor Hall.
