Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Resort is reaffirming its commitment to extending the tourism season, as it hopes to attract visitors back to Blackpool over Christmas with its luxury hotel and events packages.

Many people expect seaside towns like Blackpool to shutter down over the winter months – but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

And just like the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations extended its season by two months in recent years, Pleasure Beach too has a programme of winter events that extends far beyond the rides.

To help attract winter visitors, Pleasure Beach has launched “show and stay” packages at its luxury Boulevard hotel – named the Best Luxury Hotel in Northern Europe in 2023 and 2024.

A family of four can enjoy a luxurious stay with breakfast and tickets to Pleasure Beach’s blockbuster pantomime, Cinderella, from £240.00.

The modern take on the classic pantomime features West End stars performing alongside local talent and has been praised for its outrageous jokes, breath-taking costumes, and mesmerising special effects.

If a more glamourous night of theatre appeals, a stay with tickets for all guests to Pleasure Beach’s Gatsby Christmas Party Nights starts at £89.00 per room. The extravagant Great Gatsby-themed evening features a talented cast of singers and dancers, followed by a DJ and dancing.

Pleasure Beach is also keeping its park gates open for its magical Christmas Grotto in Wonderland. Children and their families are guided by elves through a magical interactive grotto to meet Santa and receive a special gift, before taking a ride on Alice in Wonderland and finishing their day with a hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Festive games like hook-a-duck are open throughout the park, and guests can indulge in more yuletide treats at Bubble Waffle, which also stays open.

Pleasure Beach’s ice skating arena is also open all year round, so guests can even take to the ice after visiting the Grotto.

Add a hotel stay at Boulevard, and it costs £215.00 per family with breakfast and tickets to the Grotto included.

Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, said: “Blackpool is a town that has so much to offer all year round, not just in the popular summer months. At Pleasure Beach Resort, we’re committed to extending the season for as long as possible, and giving people compelling reasons to visit at every point throughout the year.

“Our winter programme is not only hugely fun and exciting, but is part of our long-term priority to support Blackpool’s year-round economy. We want to show that the seaside doesn’t stop for winter, and we’re proud to play our part in attracting visitors back to Blackpool throughout the year.”
