New for 2025: Preston on Ice

This year a new winter wonderland experience has blossomed in Preston.  

The Preston on Ice experience, sponsored by The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, offers you the chance to skate under the 150 year old canopy at Preston Markets, grab some delicious festive food and explore the city under the sparkling Christmas lights. What are you waiting for? 

The rink, which is running until 4th January, is a real ice, open air rink, but with the magic of being situated under the beautiful Victorian canopy of the markets, so you are protected from the elements.  

You can enjoy festive music while skating the 400 quare metre space during your 50-minute time slot. Suitable for all ages there are seal skate aids (at an additional cost) for little ones to sit on and be pushed, or penguins if they fancy giving skating a go for themselves, and the rink is accessible for wheelchair users too.  

For those members of your party not looking to enjoy a glide, there's a handy viewing area around the rink which is the perfect place to grab those all-important Instagram shots! There are also photo props in this area for before and after your skate.  

Once your session is up, be sure to head to the tipi bar where you can enjoy a stein of lager and a bratwurst or too, plus live music on a weekend!  

Preston is awash with festivity, with Fishergate's Santa's grotto and magical elevator experience, plenty of Christmas lights and great entertainment, plus shops aplenty for the chance to tick off your Christmas shopping list including Preston Markets which will be staying open until 7pm on a weekend too.
