Wyre Council is spreading festive cheer by offering free parking sessions every Friday and Saturday in council car parks throughout the Christmas season.
This year, we’re extending the offer to make it even easier for you to shop local and enjoy our towns. From Friday 28 November through Saturday 20 December, you can park for up to three hours free of charge (two hours at Rough Lea Road and North Promenade in Cleveleys) every Friday and Saturday in the run-up to Christmas.
Free parking dates:
- Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November
- Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December
- Friday 12 and Saturday 13 December
- Friday 19 and Saturday 20 December
We’re also supporting local Christmas light switch-on events with four hours of free parking from 2pm at selected car parks across the borough:
- 24 November – High Street in Garstang
- 29 November – Custom House Lane and Albert Street in Fleetwood
- 5 December – Wheatsheaf Way in Poulton
Full details of our car parks can be found on our website at www.wyre.gov.uk/parking
Councillor Roger Berry, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services and Community Safety, said:
“We’re delighted to once again offer free parking during the festive season. It’s a great way to encourage residents to shop local and support our towns. Christmas can be an expensive time, especially with the current pressures on household budgets. We hope this helps ease the cost and makes visiting our high streets that little bit easier.
“This year we have brought the start date forward to coincide with Small Business Saturday on 29 November making it the perfect opportunity to shop local and support our fantastic independent businesses this Christmas.”

Devis1 In the Christmas rush, I was circling the neighborhood looking for a free spot, and only after finding a free spot did I realize the biggest challenge was yet to come: my "reliable" car had started misfiring, as if hinting that it wasn't enjoying the holidays. To avoid getting stuck in the middle of the fun, I remembered how I once checked Carfax reviews when shopping for a used car—it saved me from being an obvious junk car. Now I checked the reviews again at https://carfax.pissedconsumer.com/review.html , quickly realized the problem was typical, and drove to the shop without ruining my evening. EmliKnope I was up in Fleetwood last Christmas, hauling bags from the Custom House Lane shops, and those meter fees always sneak up on you when you're already splashing out on gifts. Personally, I love how this kicks off with Small Business Saturday; it gave me the nudge to skip the big chains and chat with the independent sellers who really make the town feel alive. If you're stocking up on festive bits, I've found a fun spin on holiday planning over at https://mega-wheel-bd.com/—it turned my usual frantic list into something way less stressful. Finn Kelly Great initiative by Wyre Council! This kind of targeted support - removing small barriers like parking costs during key shopping days - makes a real difference for local communities and businesses. It's a perfect example of how understanding and adapting to local needs builds engagement. The same principle applies to digital services. A platform truly serving a niche, like https://laser247-india.com.in/login/ for Indian users, succeeds by integrating local essentials: cricket focus, UPI payments, and Hindi support. It's about creating a seamless, frictionless experience tailored to its specific audience. Finn Kelly Great initiative by Wyre Council!
