The fun of the summer isn't over yet, with plenty of great events still happening on evenings and weekend across the county. This weekend sees the start of the Heritage Open Days fortnight, so there are plenty of historical buildings for you to explore and enjoy.

Heritage Open Days, Various Locations across Lancashire 
12th – 21st September  

The biggest national celebration of history and culture is back for 2025 and plenty of incredible Lancashire institutions are getting involved. Don't miss the opportunity to go behind the scenes as part of theatre tours, explore more in Lancashire's museums and join guided walks to tell you more about some of our incredible landmarks. The World Fireworks Championships, Blackpool 
13th September  

The first of three World Firework Championships evenings is here, and this year the whole event is kicking off a three-year Champion of Champions tournament. Over the next three years, nine former winners of the championships will go head-to-head to be crowned the ultimate winner. This weekend will see the Amir Morani Fireworks display from India take to the skies, 2023’s winner. There will be a further two nights of displays later in the year.

Vintage and Performance Car Show 25, Burnley 
13th September  

Calling all car and vintage enthusiasts! The place to be this Saturday afternoon is Burnley. Filled with horsepower, history and high-octane entertainment, this event will showcase thousands of vintage and classic cars in Burnley town centre. Expect all kinds of cars and bikes from across the decades, an exciting trail for families to enjoy, live performances and surprise walkabout acts.

XS Hot Ice Show, Blackpool 
13th September  

This weekend is your final chance to catch the XS Hot Ice Show at Pleasure Beach Resort in 2025. 

Head along to the Ice Arena to watch 30 Olympic and world champion skaters join forces to create a show of passion, pace and pure adrenaline! There’s a global connection between every performer in this show, languages become universal and skaters unite to weave a colourful tapestry of emotion and art.  Prepare to see the ice set on fire, literally as the performers offer backflips, triple spins and more

Chorley Comic Con & Alternative Market, Heskin Hall, Chorley 
13th & 14th September  

There are not one, but two events on this weekend at the beautiful Heskin Hall Manor House near Chorley. Head there on Saturday for Chorley Comic Con and meet some of the creative geniuses behind some of the best comics, enjoy cos play competitions and more.  

Then on Sunday, head to Heskin Hall for a celebration of Gothika, alternative, horror, strange and beautiful as the Alternative Market comes to town. There will be a range of stalls offering alternative clothing, giftware and more, plus hawks and owls and you can enjoy a bite to eat in the Cafe at the Manor all weekend.

Feast Bowland, Various Venues, Forest of Bowland 

15th - 20th September  

Not strictly at the weekend, but Monday sees the start of the Feast Bowland 2025 event, a whole week od celebrations to showcase the rich culinary heritage, wild food and local produce found in the Forest of Bowland National Landscape. There’s a whole range of activities to join in with, with guided walks, foodie experience and workshops all on the menu. Check out the full list of activities and book on today.
