Unravelling Threads - Working Class Lives: A Textile Exhibition, The Judges Lodgings, Lancaster
Until 16th November
This week marks the start of the Unravelling Treads – Working Class Loves: A Textile Exhibition by Sarah Joy-Ford and Lancaster Sewing Café at The Judges Lodgings and if you haven’t stopped by the museum lately, it makes an incredible edition. The pieces are distributed among the exhibitions already on show but add so much to showcase the lives of the people behind the running of the Judges Lodgings. Whilst the Judges were there to do their job, the house was looked after by housekeepers, caretakers and more and this exhibition delves into their lives. Don't miss The Housekeepers' Lodgings Digital Installation downstairs which brings the history to life with projections quoting records from the past, and Sarah Jay-Fords stunning installation on the original mahogany Dining Table which contrasts the wealth of the Judges with those who came before them for theft, poverty and homelessness.
