Blackpool is set to light up the skies once again as it launches a thrilling new chapter in its firework championships. From 2025 through to 2028, the resort will host a spectacular four-year series of shows to crown the ultimate Champion of Champions for the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool.
In this special edition of the acclaimed event, one winning team from recent years will return each season to battle for supremacy. Over the next three years, nine former champions will be invited back to compete head-to-head, with one heat winner emerging from each year. The excitement will culminate in 2028, when the three heat winners go head-to-head in a dramatic grand finale to determine the Champion of Champions.
With every competitor having previously lit up Blackpool’s skies, audiences can expect next-level creativity and ambition. Each team will revisit and refine their previous displays — enhancing effects, upgrading design elements, and introducing bespoke soundtracks to push the limits of what is possible in a fireworks show.
This year’s competition line-up features three returning champions:
- Saturday 13 September 2025 – Amir Morani Fireworks representing India, Winner 2023
- Saturday 27 September 2025 – Dance of Fire representing Ukraine, Winner 2019
- Saturday 11 October 2025 – Orion representing Canada, Winner 2015
Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “Firework nights are something very special in the Blackpool calendar and we can’t wait to welcome residents and visitors to the Promenade to see what these three returning competitors have planned.
“To have previous winners competing against each other means the audience will be in for a spectacularly good evening!”
The events are all free to access with build-up starting from 7.30pm and displays starting at approximately 8.30pm.
