The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Blackpool Winter Gardens
Until 2nd August
Straight from the West End, this incredible play brings to life the story of Susan, Lucy, Edmund and Peter that we all know and love. With incredible costumes, impressive effects and songs that will stick in your head well past leaving, it's a must for any fans of theatre or stories. It's only on until Saturday 2nd August though, so be quick and book your ticket to find yourself in Narnia this weekend.

Nestival, Brindle Distillery, Chorley
1st – 3rd August
A huge weekend of dancing, gin and great food awaits at Brindle Distillery. This year Nestival kicks off on national distillery day and there is no better place to spend the day. An event full of community spirit, music, local ales, craft markets and more, it is always in high demand, so be quick to grab your ticket. The Saturday is already sold out, and tickets for Friday are limited too. The Sunday family day is an ideal way to relax and enjoy the atmosphere with the kids.
Hauntings, Hangings and Horrid Happenings Tour, Lancaster
1st August
Looking for an evening of discovery this Friday night? Why not join Lancaster Walks, Talks and Tours, for one of their public walking tours and learn all about the sinister history of the city? Guide Gregory will take you through the ghoulish, ghastly, gloomy and grim tales from over the years starting at the dominating Lancaster Castle and finishing at Dalton Square, handly right outside The Borough pub. Due to the nature of the talks, its recommended to keep this one to older teens and adults aged 16 and above.
Enchanted Trails Competition Hunt at the Castle Museum, Clitheroe
1st - 31st August
Join the summer quest and search for knights and princesses hiding around the museum at Clitheroe Castle! How many characters can you find? Whats more, visitors can enter the competition for a chance to be the lucky winner of a goody bag, and fancy dress is always welcomed.
Young explorers can also enjoy summer crafts and discover fascinating architectural finds in the Hidden Hoards Exhibition running throughout the summer.
Are You Lost?, Dunsop Bridge
2nd - 3rd August
Are you Lost? is an exciting new commission produced by Lancaster Arts and artist Rob St John alongside the Forest of Bowland National Landscape. Head along to the heart of the Forest of Bowland to discover the stories that shape the landscape, from the people who live close by, through a series of sound, film and textile installations. First in Dunsop Bridge, where it will be situated in Jinny’s Barn, with a host of additional, free activity taking place for all ages on the village green, including artist workshops, singing, guided walks and hosted conversations. Then moving to Gisburn Forest of the last weekend of the month.

Summer Gala at West Lancashire Railway
2nd – 3rd August
Head along to West Lancashire Railway's biggest and brightest event of the year! The two-day steam gala will bring all your favourite attractions into one event at this historic community rail line in Hesketh Bank. There will be three guest locomotives in steam, plus two of the resident locomotives, with frequent passenger and works steam trails in action. Enjoy live entertainment, craft markets and a bite to eat in the tearooms.
Dragonfly Festival, WWT Martin Mere
Throughout the summer until 22nd September
Summer is in full swing at Martin Mere, and their dragonfly festival is not one to be missed. Enjoy dragonfly themed activities and events, explore the magical world of dragonflies and all that the centre has to offer. From nature trails to canoe safaris, pond dipping sessions, crafts, outdoor games and the new Paddle and Play area, you won't go wrong with a trip to Martin Mere this summer
