A Brew-tiful breakthrough means Tea will now taste Tea-riffic on holiday too

After months of research, testing and more than a thousand of cups of tea, two brands have made a breakthrough that will change brews abroad forever.

Online travel agent, On the Beach and brew experts, Lancashire Tea, have joined forces to create a brand-new teabag that will tackle the age-old gripe of why a holiday cuppa never quite tastes like one at home.

According to research conducted by the two brands, more than two thirds (66%) of tea drinking Brits take their own teabags on holiday with them, but a whopping three quarters (78%) say their favourite brew doesn’t taste the same as a cup at home.

Now, after pouring over the data and sipping through thousands of test brews, boffins have created a tea blend, carefully crafted to work perfectly with Spain’s water, so Brits can enjoy a rich, smooth and familiar brew just like back at home.

Spanish water is harder than Britain’s and so UK tea bags don’t quite brew the same with it. In fact two thirds of Brits (67%) say the water and teabags are to blame for tea tasting different abroad.

Now the brew-tiful breakthrough will mean Brits can enjoy a proper brew while holidaying in the nation’s favourite holiday hotspot.

Zoe Harris, chief customer officer at On the Beach said: “For years, Brits have been left feeling a bit mugged off when their holiday brew didn’t hit the spot, but not anymore.

“We’ve stirred things up with some tea geniuses and brewed up a solution that’s steeped in science. Now you can sip, sunbathe and say ‘ahhh’ knowing your cuppa tastes just like it does at home, only with a better view and fewer soggy biscuits."

The blend used for the tea took experts at Lancashire Tea several weeks to pair perfectly with Spanish water, that On the Beach had delivered specially to the brew making masters.

Tony Warr, Master Tea Blender at Lancashire Tea, said: “We’ve been brewing up brilliant tea for years, but this was a whole new blend game. We set about matching the Spanish water with teas from every corner of the world, all while keeping that distinctive Lancashire flavour we know and love right at the heart of everything we do.

“After blending the finest teas from Kenya, Malawi and India, we reckon we've crafted something really special, a proper brew that'll give you a lovely taste of home while you're soaking up the Spanish sunshine.

As a master tea blender, Tony has given his advice on how to make the perfect Spanish brew with the new blend:

1. Use freshly boiled Spanish water
2. Let the teabag brew for at least 3 minutes to get the full flavour
3. Add your milk and sugar just how you like it
4. Sit back and enjoy a proper British brew

The new, Lancashire Tea and On the Beach blend of which 100% is Rainforest Alliance Certified, comes in boxes of 40, fits perfectly in your suitcase or hand luggage and includes 100% biodegradable tea bags.
