Following the incredible success of Rossendale’s first ever Pride event in 2024, Spectrum Inclusion and The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery are thrilled to announce that Rossendale Pride is back for 2025 — and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!
This year’s event promises more music, more colour, more joy, and an even greater commitment to inclusion and visibility for LGBTQ+ people across the Valley.
Building on the fantastic turnout and atmosphere of last year’s debut Pride where over 500 people attended, this year’s programme will feature: Live music and performances, Family-friendly entertainment, Food and drink from local vendors, Community stalls and activities, and a louder and prouder Pride March through Whitaker Park.
The focus of this year’s Pride25 event is the importance in lasting movements, not just moments in time; with further advocacy and solidarity to those within the trans community following the Supreme Court ruling in April.
Pride25 will take place on Saturday 19th July (11am – 3:30pm) at The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery, with accompanying activities taking place within Whitaker Park.
Founder of Spectrum Inclusion, Jack Riggs said: “It has been a challenging year so far for our community and particularly trans and gender diverse people, and it’s more important than ever to remember what Pride stands for. It’s the ethos of Spectrum Inclusion, giving people a safe space to explore and express themselves with others like them. But Pride started as a riot, and we’re not done fighting for equal rights.”
Creative Director of The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery, Gaynor Seville, said: “Pride25 is about celebrating joy, resilience, and visibility — but it’s also about creating space for expression, art, and identity to flourish. The Whitaker is proud to stand alongside our LGBTQ+ community in solidarity, creativity, and hope. This is about shaping a future where everyone belongs.”
Pride25 is open to all — allies, families, individuals, and groups — and Spectrum Inclusion and The Whitaker invite everyone to stand in solidarity to create a brighter, more inclusive future together.
Pride25 is being made possible thanks to funding from Rossendale Borough Council and Community Foundation for Lancashire.
