Something About Lennon – Wednesday 18 June at 7.30pm.
Imagine a show that tells the story of one of popular music’s most iconic figures in a totally unique way. This brand-new production starring actor and musician Daniel Taylor will show you a life that wasn’t always filled with peace and love – it’s a tale of controversy, genius, politics and protest; charting John Lennon’s story from the breakup of The Beatles to his untimely death in 1980 and featuring incredible songs like Woman, Instant Karma and Imagine, and a few Beatles classics along the way. Tickets £32.
Jack Dee: Small World – Friday 20 June at 8pm
Join the delightfully deadpan TV favourite as he guides you through his varied life and career with his customary charm and well known gift for talking absolute rubbish on any given subject. Culture wars, the environment, British foreign policy and social justice: these are just a few of the topics that Jack spectacularly fails to address in his brand new show.
Instead, for reasons known only to him, he doubles down on his fascination with the meaningless small things of life like Zoom protocol, what’s new in the world of radiators and the worst careers advice office in the world. Tickets £32. Strictly 14+ Children under 14 will not be permitted entrance even with adult supervision.
K2CO’s A Thing of Beauty from Rosie Kay – Saturday 21 Jun at 7.30pm
Acclaimed choreographer Rosie Kay will dance back into The Grand with a dazzling double bill of beautiful, exhilarating dance from her exciting new company K2CO. This fabulous feast of dance is ‘full of honesty, beauty and joy’ and will be showcased as an inspiring prelude to the Capital of Dance Festival. It features two of Rosie’s most iconic works – the autobiographical Adult Female Dancer which she performs solo, and Fantasia which brings together three female performers to celebrate beauty. Created roughly a year apart, the two pieces share common ground in questioning the role of a female dancer – how women are viewed by others and how women view and express themselves… Tickets from £15.
