Lancashire’s Michelin-starred sō-lō restaurant has once again earned a coveted place on the National Restaurant Awards Top 100 list for 2025, placing at number 86.
The list was revealed on June 9th at Magazine at London Docklands - this marks a second successive appearance for the Aughton-based restaurant.
“Being recognised in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100 is a fantastic achievement for a small independent like sō–lō. We’re absolutely buzzing to have been included in the list this year. It means a lot to be featured alongside some incredible restaurants, and we’re so grateful to everyone who continues to support us.” – Tim Allen, Chef Owner
Organised by Restaurant magazine, the National Restaurant Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the UK’s culinary calendar. The awards recognise the very best chefs, restaurants and hospitality professionals across the country, with a judging panel comprising over 200 chefs, restaurateurs and food writers.
Founded in 2007, the awards celebrate the brilliance and vibrancy of the UK’s eating out scene. The Top 100 list is announced at a major industry gathering in London, with over 500 of the UK’s most influential names in food and hospitality in attendance. Special awards for categories including Wine List of the Year, Service, Sustainability and Chef to Watch are also presented.
sō-lō, the first solo venture from Michelin-starred chef Tim Allen, has enjoyed wide acclaim since opening its doors in late 2021. Tim’s deep respect for nature, ingredients and craft is evident in every dish, with the restaurant’s close relationships with local and national artisan producers ensuring only the finest seasonal ingredients make it onto the menu.
With a culinary career spanning some of the country’s most celebrated kitchens - from Launceston Place in London to The Wild Rabbit in Kingham and Whatley Manor in the Cotswolds - Tim has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and creativity. His latest chapter, sō-lō, is a relaxed yet refined dining experience set in the heart of one of the UK’s richest food-producing regions.
This latest recognition by the National Restaurant Awards follows a string of accolades for sō-lō, including including retaining its Michelin star.
