To celebrate National Children’s Gardening Week (27th May-4th June), Barton Grange Garden Centre is hosting two special workshops to encourage kids to explore the natural world.

On Thursday 1st June, there is a Make Your Own Miniature Garden event where children can dig in to create their own green display from plants and recycled materials. It’s a great chance for little ones to get their hands dirty and let their imaginations run wild!

In the Wild Workshops: Critter Time Garden Special with Steven Wild on Friday 2nd June, children can get up close with millipedes, centipedes, frogs and mice. This fun session will give aspiring David Attenborough’s the opportunity to use scientific equipment to learn all about our little garden visitors.

Barton Grange Events Organiser Georgina Jackson says: “Our half-term workshops are designed to inspire children to connect with nature and are a great way to introduce little ones to gardening for the first time. We hope the sessions will help to create a new crop of young gardeners!”

Suitable for children aged three plus, Make Your Own Miniature Garden is priced at £10 per child and Critter Time is £20 per child with a minimum age of five. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are required and can be booked online at bartongrange.co.uk

National Children’s Gardening Week celebrates the fun that gardens hold for kids and aims to encourage greater involvement through projects and activities. More information can be found at childrensgardeningweek.co.uk
