1. Ashton Memorial, Lancaster


One of the most beautiful viewpoints in North Lancashire, Ashton Memorial offers views across Morecambe Bay and up to the Lake District. The breath-taking Edwardian folly also provides a stunning backdrop for any photo. Not only do you have the memorial within the grounds of Williamson Park, but you also have 54 acres of park and woodland to enjoy, which makes for a lovely walk.

2. The Inn at Whitewell – Forest of Bowland


Escape to the country and enjoy a mouth-watering meal at The Inn at Whitewell, during which you can pop the question! This traditional rural inn is part of the Duchy of Lancaster's estate and sits in the heart of the Forest of Bowland AONB. During the winter months you will be treated to atmospheric roaring fires, and there are plenty of stunning countryside views and walking opportunities surrounding the Inn for those who love the outdoors.

3. The Singing Ringing Tree, Burnley


If you are a lover of art, or are looking for a location that will provide stunning views, take a trip to the Singing Ringing Tree near Burnley. This unique musical sculpture overlooks Burnley from Crown Point. It is made up of pipes of galvanised steel, stacked in layers and produces a low, tuneful song. It is close to the Dunnockshaw Millennium Wood, Pennine Bridleway and more walking routes and has been the winner of awards for its architectural brilliance. It will definitely be a memorable place to propose to your loved one.

4. The Midland Hotel, Morecambe


The Midland Hotel in Morecambe offers idyllic views over the uninterrupted coastline of Morecambe Bay, over to the Lake District hills on clear days. Its Art Deco architecture is present throughout the hotel, restaurant and bar, and has been a staple of the Morecambe landscape since the 1930s. You could treat yourself to Afternoon Tea or a delicious meal, and some cocktails too.

5. Turton and Entwistle Reservoir, Blackburn


One of the highest reservoirs in Britain when it was built, the Turton and Entwistle Reservoir is a stunning location which is often mistaken for Switzerland or Lapland in photographs during the winter. The circular walk around the water is perfect if you have a pram with you or struggle with hills as it is completely flat. Visiting with family or friends could mean the picture-perfect moment in front of the water, or on one of the walks bridges, is captured!

6. Beach House Bistro and Bar, Blackpool


This stunning bistro offers a unique boho dining experience with stunning views across the ocean. The panoramic windows in the conservatory space provide a beautiful spot to watch the sunset over the Irish Sea. Do you share a passion for sport? If you and your loved ones have spent many Saturdays at the match, then maybe that would be the perfect spot to propose. Lancashire has a number of fantastic football teams all with stadiums that will provide the perfect backdrop to the most important question of your loved one’s life.
