The Christmas events will all be held at the Charity’s Shores Hey Farm, Briercliffe, Burnley, BB10 3QU, to help raise vital funds.

The Charity has put together a December packed full of Festive Delights. Families, supporters, and friends are encouraged to show their support for the vital equine welfare work of the Charity by attending an event and/ or enjoying a festive lunch in The Café to celebrate Christmas.

Starting early, with two Wreath Making sessions on 27th November and 3rd December, you can join our wreath-making expert Mandy and create your own personalised festive wreath to adorn your door or hearth. A great way to start the seasonal merriment.

Throughout the holidays children will be challenged to find the Festive Characters around the Farm, and those who do will win a prize. Santa will be dropping in at the Farm on 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, and 19th December between 12noon and 2pm. Visits to Santa include a gift and entry into the Farm to visit the horses and ponies, bookings can be made online and are sure to sell out fast.

The Café will be offering a Festive Menu full of delicious treats and Afternoon Teas from the start of December. On Friday 16th December The Café is also hosting a Festive Evening with entertainment by Jessica Mary, guests are advised to book early for this one.

Menus and further information are available now to view online and bookings being taken by email cafebookings@happa.org.uk or by calling 07736888917.

HAPPA’s Educational Programme will run for the whole of the school holidays with Own a Pony Days, Beginners Guide to Horse & Pony Care courses and Pony Squad, a great opportunity to learn more about horses and ponies and get up close to HAPPA’s lovely residents. The Education Team will also be offering Pony Grooming sessions for those aged four and over to get the chance to make a HAPPA pony gleam for Christmas.

Finally on 23rd December, between 12noon and 4pm, the Team at Shores Hey Farm welcome all visitors to decorate a bauble in the Activity Room, a great idea to make a personalised gift for a loved one, or your tree, there will also be the chance to get a Festive Glitter Tattoo as well.

Julie Pharaoh-Gan, HAPPA’s Head of Fundraising, says “We want to make this Christmas a special one for all our supporters, visitors, staff, volunteers, and equines. This year we hope to raise some much-needed income and everyone’s festive spirits with all the fun events we have planned. I cannot wait to welcome Santa to the Farm.”

Anyone visiting the Farm throughout December will be able to purchase horse sponsorship packs. Sponsoring a HAPPA horse is a great way to support the Charity and follow your chosen equine’s journey to finding a Forever Home. With the bonus of this special offer being presented in a festive decorative pack, an ideal gift for any equine enthusiast.

Finally, the resident horses and ponies will not be left out, their supporters and friends will be encouraged to buy them gifts from their Amazon Wish List or from the Charity’s onsite shop, The Fussy Fillly. Each one really does deserve a present this year.

HAPPA are appealing for you to join them in celebrating Christmas 2022, the Charity would not exist without your support. For further information about all the activities mentioned and to book a Christmas to remember please visit the website www.happa.org.uk or call 01282 455992.
