Halloween is fast approaching and there’s no better way to get into the spooky spirit than pumpkin picking.

Pumpkin picking is becoming more popular every year, with all shapes, colours and sizes ready to be picked and carved. Even better, most places now provide you with the option to carve your pumpkin there, so you can leave your mess behind!

This year there’s lots of places across Lancashire offering Pumpkin Picking, but booking is essential and things are booking up quick. Book now to make sure you don’t miss out.

Windmill Animal Farm

The famous Pumpkin Picking Adventure is back again for another year. Head to Windmill Animal Farm for a full day of Farmyard fun. Farmer Chris has planted over 20,000 pumpkins at Windmill Animal Farm ready to be picked this October.

Tickets to this event are limited and each year is a sell out. Each ticket includes a full day admission to Windmill Animal Farm, all animal interactions and interactions including the brand-new Runaway Farm Train.

The famous Pumpkin Picking Adventure is where all visitors get to pick their own pumpkin from the same field they are grown in.

One pumpkin is included per ticket, but if that’s not enough you are welcome to purchase more pumpkins on the day. Wheelbarrows will be provided but don’t forget your wellies!

Greenlands Farm

Grab a wheelbarrow and take a walk through the spooky decorated Greenlands Farm. Look out for the witches, skeletons, and spider webs as you make your way to the Pumpkin Village where you will be able to pick your own pumpkin.

Pose for a photo at one of the many pumpkin displays, visit the locally crafted scarecrows and even handle the creepy crawlies in the Reptile room. Once you have finished exploring everything the farm has to offer, you can head to the undercover straw play areas where you can carve your pumpkin into a masterpiece.

Ridgeway Farm Pumpkin Festival

22nd October – 30th October

The Ridgeway Farm Pumpkin Festival is back bigger than better! Grab your wellies and come down to meet some of the friendly animals whilst you pick one of the amazing pumpkins. Even better, after picking your own pumpkin you can transport it (in one of the very stylish wheelbarrows) and decorate it, all  whilst enjoying a well-deserved brew and a snack back in the autumnal themed Orchard. This year you can even enjoy some hot food whilst at the festival.

Tickets are £7.50 per person and includes both entry to the farm and a pumpkin. Adults may swap the pumpkin for a hot drink but everyone needs a ticket.

There are some creepy goings on at Thornton Hall Farm this Halloween. A spook-tacular family day out, packed with magical adventures – perfect entertainment for the whole family.

 So, jump on your broomstick and head over for some fearsome fun. Grab a wheelbarrow and visit the mysterious pumpkin patch. Will you be brave enough to take a journey through ‘Trick or Treat Street’ (new for 2022) to meet its creepy residents? And in the Secret Garden there’s a spell-binding LIVE witch show with Amaris ‘witch of the moon’ and Hestia ‘witch of fire’ looking to recruit a new witch or warlock to join their coven!

As well as all the usual farm animal encounters and indoor/outdoor play.
