Blackpool Zoo is getting ready for a week of freaky fun as it celebrates Halloween in skeleton inspired style.

From Saturday 22nd to Sunday 30th October the Dinosaur Safari will be transformed into a spooky land of make-believe and there will also be a skeleton trail across the park inviting visitors to find skeletons dressed as zoo staff.

There will be photo opportunities galore for visitors to capture spooky memories of the day and there will be a naming competition for a display of banjo strumming skeletons at the entrance to the zoo.

There’s Halloween treats for the animals too - lots of pumpkin enrichment!

The zoo’s Playbarn will also be hosting two very special Halloween themed parties on the 29th and 31st October with a fancy-dress competition, games, pumpkin parade, slime workshops, air tattoos and a ghoulish free gift!

Nicola Benstead, Marketing and PR coordinator at Blackpool Zoo, said: “Halloween is one of our favourite times of the year as the zoo looks stunning set against a backdrop of natural beauty and everyone is ready to have some fun after the first half-term of the school year.

“Our Halloween decorations are always a sight to behold and our new skeleton trail means that little super sleuths will have great fun finding our ‘skeleton staff’.

“The Playbarn parties are popular every year, so we advise people to book now to avoid disappointment.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors for a gruesomely good time here at Blackpool Zoo this October.”
