Fun seeking families need look no further than Blackburn for fabulous FREE activities and celebrity appearances this half term!

The Mall, Blackburn BID and Blackburn Market are all hosting exciting Halloween events across the week, meaning there is something new to see and do every day.

Out of this world fun in The Mall Blackburn

Kicking off on Saturday 22nd October and running through to the date of the special guest appearance on Saturday 29th, kids can enjoy a whole host of exciting extra-terrestrial arts and crafts including making flying rockets, climbing robots, finger spies and much more!

Titan will be making special appearances throughout the day to meet and greet fans in The Mall. Titan’s TV appearances include Britain’s Got Talent, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Big Brother, The Secret Life of a 5-Year-Old and The Gadget Show.

Activity schedule:

Saturday - Robot masks

Sunday - Glitter tattoos

Monday - Out of this world finger spies (robots, space men, aliens)

Tuesday - Spaceship wands

Wednesday - UFO making

Thursday - Climbing robots

Friday - Flying rockets

Saturday – Titan the Robot

The Out of this world activities will take place between 11am and 4pm in the unit between Shoezone and The Works.

Titan the Robot will be out and about in The Mall at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm on Saturday 29th October.

Celebrity spotting in The Entertainer

YouTube superstar JJ from CoComelon will also be making a very special guest appearance in The Mall’s Entertainer store between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 22nd October.

Fans can get pictures, give him a high-five or just give him a wave throughout the day!

Spooktacular Blackburn

Blackburn BID has a fang-tastic line-up of events across the town throughout half term.

Pumpkin Carving and Live Carve: Saturday 22 October, 11am-4pm

Families can join in the free drop-in workshops on King William Street where the pumpkins and tools will be provided free of charge. There will also be an incredible LIVE pumpkin carve on a giant pumpkin throughout the day.

Trick or Treat Trail: Saturday 29 October, 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm.

A family-friendly Trick or Treat Trail around Blackburn Town Centre will take people across five locations to meet Halloween characters who will give them a letter that makes up a five-letter word!   Everyone that unscrambles the letters and hands the completed trail map in at the Ask Me Point in The Mall Blackburn will receive a Halloween ‘treat’. Trail maps can be collected from the Ask Me Point in The Mall Blackburn.

Fright Night: Saturday 29 October, 6pm in Town Hall Square

Adults and older children can join a ghoulish ghost walk including terrifying characters that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. There’ll be spooky stories, scary moments and riddles ghoul-ore!  

Autumnal Animal Mask in Blackburn Market

Kids can get hands on and make some stunning autumnal animal masks with artist Becky Atherton on Monday 24th October. They will be provided with everything they need to create stunning masterpieces between 11am and 4pm.
