Halloween is fast approaching and there are some spooky goings on at Lancashire’s award-winning visitor attraction Thornton Hall Country Park.

With pumpkin picking becoming more and more popular year-on-year, the Thornton Hall Pumpkin Patch returns for its sixth year. In fact, in 2021 the attraction had the 3rd most Instagram-able pumpkin patch in the UK!

Visitors, wizards, witches and ghouls (of all ages) are encouraged to grab a mini wheelbarrow and explore the patch watching out for the Park’s friendly Halloween characters along the way.

Visitor Natalie Gill from Accrington said of the Park’s Halloween event “The pumpkin patch was brilliant, my children and I loved it! All the shows over the Halloween season were really good - so much effort put in. Genuinely, we had such a good day! Our memories from the experience … really good fun!”

There’s 2 fantastic Halloween experiences to choose from this year, with the new SPOOKS event promising to be bigger and better than ever.  As well as all the usual hands-on farm animal encounters and activities and brand new indoor soft play included in the ticket price.

Offering Best Value to families. Taking into consideration the financial pressures on families and increasing costs, the attraction are committed to include as much as possible as part of visitor’s SPOOKS entry ticket – creep across to ‘Trick or Treat Street’ to meet its eerie residents. And in the Secret Garden there’s a spell-binding LIVE witch show with Amaris ‘witch of the moon’ and Hestia ‘witch of fire’ looking to recruit a new witch or warlock to join their coven. Not forgetting broomstick racing and a skeleton scavenge!

Tourism Awards. As recently announced finalists of the 2022 Visit Lancashire Tourism Awards for ‘Large Visitor Attraction’ and ‘Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award’, owner Emma Harrison says “Over the last year our ‘farm family’ has grown – from animal handlers and receptionists to witches and magicians! We can’t wait for our visitors to come and see our brand-new show and visit ‘Trick or Treat’ street.”

So, jump on your broomstick and head over to Thornton Hall Country Park with the whole family for some fearsome fun … before it’s too late!
