Burnley Gearing up for Vintage Car Show

Burnley is gearing up for a full throttle event which will see classic motors and machines parked up at a number of town centre locations.

Taking place on Saturday 10^th September from 11am-4pm, the Burnley Vintage Car Show is set to bring a range of retro vehicles right into the heart of the town for people to see and admire.

Cars will be positioned on St James’s Street, Curzon Street and The Mall, while Burnley Bus Station will be displaying up to five classic buses from different decades during the 20^th century.

A famous machine from a well-known Disney film is also going to be in attendance which is sure to prove a hit with families, and the Burnley Alliance Silver Band will perform in the afternoon.

Exhibitors from all over the North-West of England are scheduled to appear at the show which is being organised by Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Burnley Council, Charter Walk and the Rotary Club of Burnley.

Earlier this year Burnley BID put a call out for classic vehicle enthusiasts who would be interested in taking part and they received a good response, with a range of rare, unique and interesting motors poised to line-up.

It’s not too late to exhibit either, as a small number of places are still available for anyone wishing to display their vehicle on the day. Please email burnleyBid@groundwork.org.uk if you are interested in taking part.

Burnley BID Project Manager Andrew Dean has spoken about his excitement ahead of the event and has urged people to come along to the show and make a day of it.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing vintage vehicles throughout the town centre which will certainly make for a great spectacle.

“With fantastic shops and wonderful hospitality businesses in Burnley, why not come along to the show and then discover everything that the town has to offer whether that be for some retail therapy or a bite to eat? The event is completely free to attend.”

The Burnley Vintage Car Show caps a busy summer of activities which have been taking place across the town centre including the Dinosaur Trail, Canal Festival and monthly artisan market.
