After two years of waiting, an array of YouTube videos and an occasional live stream event, Ribble Valley International Piano Week are thrilled to announce the return of a hotly anticipated event in the Northwest classical music calendar, Martin Roscoe’s Live Launch concert for RVIPW (in association with Westholme School).  The programme includes pieces by Brahms, Beethoven and Liszt, a fabulous evening of piano music intended to delight the audience on what we hope will be a beautiful spring evening.

Martin Roscoe recorded all of Beethoven’s Sonatas to great critical acclaim between 2010 and 2018, and it seems only fitting that he revisits two of those sonatas planned for performances in 2020, the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth.

In the interval, Martin will share news of the world-class musicians he has invited to Blackburn during the summer festival from Wednesday 13th to Saturday 16th July 2022.

Festival Chair, Marianne Bailey says “Once again Martin has put together a fabulous programme of piano music for our launch event on May 18th, and it is always interesting to hear him talk about the background to his programming decisions for the main festival during the evening. The past two years have been so hard for artists and we are pleased to have been able to find dates for the majority of artists that were set to perform for us in 2020.  Come along and hear all about it on May 18th!”
