With bated breath, fingers crossed and plans now in motion, Pendle Leisure Trust is getting ready to reopen its leisure centres in just over three weeks’ time!

Abiding by the roadmap for easing restrictions in England, and if everything goes according to plan with the Government’s four step rules, the Trust’s facilities will be reopening in stages.

The pools and gyms at Pendle Wavelengths, Pendle Leisure Centre and West Craven Sports Centre will reopen on Monday, April 12th; along with the gym and track at Seedhill Athletics and Fitness Centre, the Feelgood Factory at Pendle Leisure Centre, children’s swimming lessons and beauty treatments at Inside Spa.

On Monday, May 17th, Inside Spa’s Wellness Experience will reopen and fitness classes, organised indoor sports and pool-based classes will resume.

Due to the continued safety restrictions complying with Government guidelines, Inside Spa sessions and treatments will have to be pre-booked; along with public swimming sessions, fitness classes and indoor sports. At this stage there will be no need to book gym sessions.

The Muni Theatre will reopen in September, with a full Autumn/Winter programme of shows and events. The ACE Centre will remain closed until further notice, as this is still being used as a COVID-19 Testing Centre.

All leisure centres are currently in the process of being thoroughly deep cleaned and staff training is taking place to make sure everyone and everything is ready for reopening safely in April.

Alison Goode, Chief Executive of Pendle Leisure Trust, said: “We are ready and raring to go and we cannot wait to welcome all our customers back! We have been busy planning for the last few weeks, now these plans can finally be put into action.

“Throughout this pandemic, the one thing that has been made perfectly clear is the importance of physical activity for people’s health and well-being – and we want to make sure we do our bit for our members and customers by providing them with top-class facilities in order for them to get back to what

they enjoy doing, while making sure all the correct procedures are in place so they feel safe to return.

“As a charitable Trust, we provide these leisure facilities for every member of Pendle’s community and we want everyone to take advantage of them – so please come and use them!”
