WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre are back with a splash this August with a whole host of safe and fun activities including the return of the giant LEGO® Brick Animals.

Visitors will be able to see eight giant LEGO brick birds amongst their real life feathery friends as well as picking up a paddle and canoeing round our award winning safari and uncovering a world of incredible underwater life in our pond dipping activities, all with ‘We’re Good to Go’ stamps of approval.

Nick Brooks, Centre Manager, said: “We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been accredited with the "We're Good to Go" stamp of approval and all of the activities we have put in place have been designed to ensure everyone’s safety is a priority.  This includes a new self-service jetty on the canoe safari and ‘do it yourself’ pond dipping.  We are limiting numbers to the site and everyone must book in advance to ensure a safe and fun day out for everyone over the summer holidays.”

‘We’re Good to Go’ is a UK-wide industry standard which has been developed in partnership with Visit England, Tourism Northern Ireland, Visit Scotland and Visit Wales. The accreditation means visitors can rest assured that WWT is doing everything to ensure they operate within the relevant government and public health guidance for managing coronavirus risk. These measures include managing numbers on site, ensuring social distancing and thorough cleaning regimes.

You can also pick up a bag of grain on arrival and get nose to beak with some of Martin Mere’s favourite birds, balance over the stepping stones, explore our wetland walks and let off some steam in the play area, all whilst enjoying a drink and a bite to eat from our kiosks.

Visitors can fill their lungs with fresh air and stretch their legs as they explore the extraordinary landscapes and make summer a safe ‘staycation’ to remember, filled with memories of outdoor fun, in the company of WWT’s wildlife superstars.

The centre is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm.   To safely manage numbers on site, all visitors are all asked to book online (whether a WWT member or not).  To find out more about what to expect and to book tickets, visit our bookings page: https://wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/martin-mere/bookings
