Following the easing of government restrictions, The Mall Blackburn will be operating under normal trading hours from Monday 15th June.  Customers are advised to check www.themall.co.uk/blackburn for individual store details.

In order to open in a safe and controlled manner, centre Management have undertaken extensive planning and consultation with local authorities, retailers and service providers to ensure the health and wellbeing of shoppers and staff, with detailed guidelines having been issued to occupiers and staff teams.

Access to The Mall will be closely monitored through additional staff and using existing footfall technology so that visitor capacity can be carefully controlled to maintain social distancing and to protect everyone.

If the density of shoppers rises to levels that may prevent social distancing, access to the centre will be reduced or temporarily stopped until numbers decrease.

A wide variety of measures have been implemented to support good hygiene practice and social distancing including a one-way system and hand sanitation stations.

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “We want everyone to feel as safe as possible and ask that our shoppers please adhere to the government’s guidance on social distancing to reduce interaction between people to help prevent the transmission of coronavirus (Covid-19).

“We ask that shoppers don’t enter the centre if they are experiencing any symptoms of Covid 19, which include a new and persistent cough, a fever or a loss of sense of taste or smell.

“Everyone must maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from all other members of the public and strictly observe the centre’s social distancing measures as instructed by staff on The Mall and in our stores.

“We have missed our shoppers, they are the heart of the centre. We very much look forward to welcoming them back to The Mall Blackburn.”

Up to date information on accessibility will be available on the website at www.themall.co.uk/blackburn and via its social media channels.
