Know before you go! As the long-anticipated day is arriving this weekend, many bars, pubs and restaurants have implemented strict guidelines which is crucial to know before you visit. Make sure you’re fully prepared prior to travelling to ensure a smooth day/night out, please abide by these general points:

  • When travelling to a venue be sure to wear a face mask if you are travelling on Public transport. Make sure you have planned for how you are getting home.

  • Adhere to the 2 metre social distance rule and a minimum of 1 metre (with precautions) where this is not possible.

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19 do not leave your house. Similarly do not leave home if NHS Track and Trace have contacted you and advised you to stay home.

  • Remember a maximum of two households are permitted to meet indoors, or a maximum of 6 individuals from more than 2 households are permitted to meet outdoors.

More specifically, each venue will have different rules depending on the space they have. Here are some practices that you are likely to experience:

  • One-way system around the venue

  • You may have to pre-book your visit and there may be a time/person limit

  • You will only be able to sit within your household or bubble group

  • You will be advised remain in your seats as much as possible throughout the duration of your booking slot

  • You may have to queue outside before entering as members of staff carry out necessary cleaning and precautions

  • You will be asked to give your name/number to which the venue will keep a record in case there is a small outbreak to which you will be notified of the necessary actions you will need to take.

We hope you enjoy the time you spend at these venues. Please remember that the first weeks will be a learning curve for many businesses who face this unprecedented task. Adhere to their guidelines and be patient as they get to grips on this new normal. In some places across Lancashire in busier cities such a Preston, you may see an increased Police presence. This is simply to ensure the safe and effective re-opening of hospitality businesses and there is no need to be alarmed.

Remember that venues and their staff are doing their best to keep themselves and their guests safe, and are carrying out these changes and restrictions following government guidance, please don’t put them in an awkward position. These businesses have been closed for several months and they want to welcome you back just as much as you want to enjoy your night, responsibly!

Please check directly with the venue for their specific regulations before setting out on your journey.
