In What's On

The Mall Blackburn has teamed up with the organisers of World Book Day to bring stories to life in the shopping centre!

It will host entertaining story-telling sessions starting on World Book Day (Thursday 5th March) and ending on Sunday 8th March. This will include a quiet hour on Sunday morning.

In addition, a selection of books will be hidden around Blackburn town centre for children to find, enjoy and re-hide.

Little bookworms can also download a World Book Day bookmark to colour in and use free of charge.

Finally, as parents across the county start the hunt for suitable fancy dress, The Mall is giving people the opportunity to bring along costumes from last year to swap for another one at its Ask Me Point. Those who don’t have costumes to swap can still come and take one away.*

Loraine Jones, General Manager at the Mall Blackburn, said: “In this digital age it is vitally important that we still nurture a love of printed literature and I am sure that many of us remember how wonderful story time was at school!

“The story-telling sessions in The Mall will be great fun and will hopefully inspire children to pick up, and get lost in, a book!

“We are also excited about the books we will be hiding around the town centre and hope that they bring joy and wonder to those who find and re-hide them.

“Our costume swap will save parents time and money searching for a new costume but you don’t need to bring one in order to take one away, so it is open to everyone!

Story telling sessions will be held at the Ask Me Point in Victoria Court at the following times:

Thursday 5th March - 1.30pm to 5.30pm
Friday 6th March - 1.30pm to 5.30pm
Saturday 7th March - 1.30pm to 5.30pm
Sunday 8th March - 10am to 2pm (quiet hour will be 10am to 11am)

The World Book Day bookmark template is available to print here.

The book is always the ideal present. I enjoyed reading books, especially historical ones. But I struggled when it came to essay writing. There were challenging assignments at the university. But because of the website https://www.bestdissertation.com/ , I was able to complete them fast and effectively. When you need to produce multiple lengthy works in a short period of time, these services are incredibly beneficial.

Yes, I believe a large portion of the administration was dissatisfied with his pursuit of justice. The fact that he didn't pass away naturally doesn't surprise me because no one wants such leaders among the people. I think he is a fantastic man and deserves to have monuments built in his honor. By the way, I found pieces about him and his life that are beautifully written; for example, go to read more https://papersowl.com/examples/martin-luther-king/ . I was able to understand a lot of this, and I'm happy that I learned a lot about this man and his way of life.
