Families of all ages are invited to a week of Halloween-themed events for the October Half Term (20-28th October) at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre, Burscough. From pumpkin carving to broomstick flight training and a spooky canoe ride, there’s plenty on offer for an action-packed family day out.

Budding young pilots are invited to take part in our Broomstick Flight Training activity. Hop on your broomstick and experience the incredible journey Whooper swans make from Iceland to Martin Mere with our interactive migration obstacle course – look out for predators, pylons and wind turbines! Collect your broomstick pilot licence and take a souvenir photo of your achievement once you’ve finished.

You can take part in the pumpkin hunt around the centre grounds. Grab a leaflet when you arrive, find all of the pumpkins carved with a letter to reveal a secret word and receive your pumpkin hunt sticker and chocolate treat! You can also get involved with pumpkin carving in our craft room – get the whole family together and get creative.

You’ll have access to all our usual walks and talks such as the daily otter talk, the white stork talk and feed and our wild walk area will be open for those after a muddy adventure.

With a large play area for the young ones and a café selling tasty treats and warming drinks, a trip to Martin Mere really is fun for all the family! For more details and prices, please visit our website: www.wwt.org.uk/martin-mere/
