Kaboom! Pow! Sploosh! Whap! Preston is celebrating the launch of the Comics Exhibition at The Harris on Saturday 23 June with loads of Comics activity on the Flag Market outside from 12noon to 4pm.

Meet local comic artists and find out how to create your own comic characters. Celebrate Preston’s own brilliant comic artist Leo Baxendale. Come dressed up as a character from your favourite comic to have a chance to win a comic prize!

Don't forget your coloured pens...Artists will have a chance to draw and create unique pieces of art on boards dotted around Preston Flag Market. And there will be lots of stalls jam-packed with comic goodies to inspire fans of all ages.

Then there’s heaps more to do in the comics exhibition in the Harris, with – only in Preston – original artwork by Leo Baxendale for the Beano comic’s Bash Street Kids and Minnie the Minx.

This is your chance to make new pals, meet up with old ones and celebrate the thing you love. Everyone is welcome at this event, whether you're in costume or not.

How to take part
This is a free event open to everyone – on the Flag Market and in the Harris.
Come dressed as a character from your favourite comic, past or present, and join the parade at 1.30pm and 3pm to have a chance of winning one of our fabulous prizes for children and adults.
