Easter is symbolic to many as the start of new beginnings, new lives and of course the obligatory oodles of chocolate! And this year, Lancashire’s only five star holiday village - Ribby Hall Village – has all the above in abundance; leaving you no egg-cuses not to indulge!

With a cracking line up of additional family activities planned especially for the Easter holidays, alongside Ribby Hall Village’s already jam-packed activity schedule available 365 days a year, there’s absolutely no egg-cuse for anyone to be bored within The Village’s 100 acres.

During this special time of year, when (hopefully) the weather is warming up and the days are getting longer, children both young and young at heart have a whole host of activities and facilities to enjoy and explore.  Brand NEW for Easter 2018 guests can reel in the fun with a casting-rod fishing experience – learning how to fish in The Village’s well-stocked waters with an expert instructor. This NEW two and a half hour fishing activity is an opportunity for catch-and-release fishing giving an introduction into care and handling; casting; striking; landing; unhooking and returning and is suitable for adults and children aged six years plus.

Ribby Hall Village’s Woodland Trail is also being transformed into a large Easter egg hunt whereby giant Easter eggs will be hidden throughout and the children will need to crack open the eggs to solve the clues, complete a clue sheet and ultimately win a chocolate prize. Other Easter specific activities to name a few will include Easter bonnet making and decorating alongside the planting of spring flowers within decorated plant pots, a memory for those little green fingers to take away from their Ribby home from home.

Children will also be able to visit The Easter Bunny who will greet all the little ones with smiles and laughter, enabling them to collect in person their very own Easter egg.

However, what really makes Easter egg-tra special at Ribby Hall Village this year are all the new friends due to be hatching at Wild Discovery.

Wild Discovery is Ribby Hall Village’s educational and interactive wildlife centre and zoo for all ages, promoting animal welfare and conservation of the world’s biodiversity.

Wild Discovery is now home to 44 different species and a colossal 225 individual animals, many of which have been rescued.  Just this past week Wild Discovery has already experienced a baby boom including four baby meerkats, nine baby tortoises, 12 baby stick insects, four baby guinea pigs and with plenty more expected to be born over the coming weeks including joeys and baby tortoises…which will be such a perfect start to the Easter holiday period and Spring season.

Guests can also enjoy getting up close and interactive with many of the species including the friendly monkeys, pelicans and meerkats.  Guests can also meet with some of the world’s most vulnerable, close to extinction and also critically endangered species.

Themed Easter activities will also take place within the Hatchery where children can learn about the chicks being born and they can also take part in egg candling.  Daily feeding sessions for some of the animals are also scheduled.
