Originally formed in the late 80s, The Good Earth built a solid reputation for great tunes with strong melodies and energetic shows on the live circuit in the North West of England. This brought them to the attention of the major labels and in early 1992 the band signed with a major U.S. label for a six-album deal. Everything looked rosy.
Working at the legendary Chipping Norton Studios in Oxfordshire, The Good Earth began recording their debut album. But an unhappy relationship with their producer meant that the results pleased no-one. Especially the band. Despite garnering some great audience reactions on major tours supporting the likes of Go West and Jimmy Barnes, The Good Earth parted company with their label in 1994. Disillusioned with the music industry, the band called it a day and went their separate ways.
Fast forward to early 2021. Lockdown. An unexpected text message, "do you want to put the band back together?" Without hesitation all five members said "yes". With all the energy and enthusiasm that they had back in the day, The Good Earth set out on their mission: "to record the album we wanted to make in 1994". And that they have done, without record company interference or influence.
The forthcoming album "Strange World" is a 12-song collection of powerful, passionate, honest, melodic tunes with thoughtful lyrics that have the potential for universal appeal. The first single "Out Of Time" was the band setting out as it means to carry on, with a song it hoped would move you, make you want to dance and sing along with the anthemic chorus. The next song to be taken from the album "Strange World" is "Don't Know, Won't Say", which will be available on 18th January 2024 to stream or download from all the usual outlets. With its catchy hooks and riffs, it's an upbeat attention grabber.
"Strange World" will be available soon as a digital album from all outlets. Watch out for the limited-edition CD in gatefold sleeve.
Due to amazing demand, this performance has been moved from the Studio into the main auditorium.
