RAuxAF 100: The Story of 611 Squadron

On 9th October, 1924, King George V signed the Air Order-in Council establishing the Auxiliary Air Force. (now the Royal Auxiliary Air Force). This year, 2024, the Force celebrates its centenary, and it is referred to as RAuxAF 100.

The Royal Auxiliary Air Force (RAuxAF) is made up of part-time volunteer service personnel.  To mark this occasion, 611 (West Lancashire) Squadron, which is based at RAF Woodvale, has put together this display to share some of their history and show where their modern personnel have served, including showing some of the medals they've received.

This exhibition tells the story of 611 Squadron's achievements and demonstrates the timespan of their service history.
