Accrington's vibrant new music festival - OAK FEST!

OAK FEST. Taking place on Saturday, August 12, from 12 noon to 10pm at Accrington's Oak Hill Park – in the heart of Pennine Lancashire and within easy reach of Manchester and Leeds. Oak Hill Park will come alive with exhilarating sounds from established and emerging musicians, combined with exciting activities for everyone to enjoy. This new festival promises to be a memorable day and evening, with free entry for all.
OAK FEST boasts an impressive line-up of talent set to captivate audiences with their incredible performances. Headlining is the iconic A Certain Ratio, known for their ground breaking music that has influenced generations. Lovescene, Manchester's favourite soul band, will also take the stage, presenting their highly anticipated self-titled album. Acid Brass fuse dance anthems with traditional brass band, Bluedot festival favourite HENGE bring their own style of electronic rock and cosmic show, and Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist La Voix entertains us with showtime classics. Fresh from Manchester International Festival, South Asian contemporary Desi artists such as HMD covering R&B, hip hop and traditional South Asian music, plus contemporary soul from Danny Hassan and Luqy's, and thought-provoker Kami Kane. There is alternative pop from Anamelia, Indie rock pop & folk by Martha and an energetic fusion of indie pop with folk influences by Joash.
In addition to the music line-up, OAK FEST is offering an array of free activities throughout the day. DJs will host a non-stop Silent Disco. Food and drink stalls will be located around the festival catering for every taste. Community stalls will showcase local activities and small gift stalls as mementos. For those seeking relaxation, the chillout zone and hammocks offer a serene escape, and a space for reflection.
OAK FEST prides itself on being a safe, family-friendly day where everyone is welcome. While the festival will have alcohol available for purchase, no other alcoholic beverages will be permitted on-site. Audiences can bring their own food picnics or enjoy the festival's vibrant food and drink offering.
To make the festival accessible for all, a free return bus service will be available throughout the day. The bus service will run from Accrington train station to the town centre and on to Oak Hill Park.
The festival invites everyone to join in the excitement, experience the incredible talent on display, and create unforgettable memories in Accrington.

Accrington is fast becoming the place to be. It's new cultural calendar of events, made possible as part of the levelling up fund from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, further supporting the vibrant arts and cultural scene in Hyndburn.
Hyndburn has received £500,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for projects, including Oak Fest, which deliver a new cultural and heritage programme for the borough. This package will be delivered by March 2025 and includes curated events, strategy compilation, consultancy and appointment of a Head of Culture and Heritage.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and places, supporting local business, and people and skills.
