2025 is a milestone in the development of what we know today as The Atkinson.
From the building of Cambridge Hall in 1874 to the redevelopment and opening of The Atkinson in 2013, this establishment has been an impressive presence on Lord Street for over 150 years. Holding over 100,000 objects, ranging from Egyptology and social history to fine art, it is a place full of stories.
Join heritage and participation officer Jo Chamberlain to take a look at some of the tales behind the amazing collection held at The Atkinson and find out a little more about what is coming next.
