Singer, guitarist, songwriter and recording artist from Albany, NY, USA, Kate McDonnell has captivated audiences around the globe for decades with her award-winning songwriting skills, unique and jaw-dropping 'upside down and backwards' guitar style, her infectious personality and stunning voice.
Kate's blend of 'rootsy blues and folksier Americana' weaves compellingly around her songs of love, loss and yearning that deliver their messages with a mesmerising combination of truth, intelligence and humour.
From early gigs with Freddie Tane (Bill Haley and the Comets), opening shows for the likes of Bob Dylan, Suzanne Vega and Judy Collins, through six highly acclaimed album releases, solo appearances at the prestigious Newport Folk Festival to the recent release of her new album, Trapeze, Kate has continued to receive critical acclaim from audiences and fellow musicians alike to become a staple of North American folk radio.
Her latest album, Trapeze, reached number three for folk radio airplay within a week of release in the USA and took Kate to number one artist in the same lists shortly after. This short tour will be the precursor to a much more extensive visit in 2026 so take the chance now to see one of the truly great singer, songwriters of her generation up close and personal.
