A talk by Dr Campbell Price
During the Graeco-Roman Period (c. 300 BCE – 300 CE), the Egyptian pantheon took on new forms to meet the needs of a multicultural society. This lecture reviews the evidence for hybrid Egyptian, Greek and Roman gods in domestic, temple and funerary settings, and acts as an introduction to Manchester Museum's blockbuster international touring exhibition 'Golden Mummies of Egypt'.
Dr Campbell Price is Curator of Egypt and Sudan at Manchester Museum, Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and Chair of Trustees at the Egypt Exploration Society.
