Ridgeway Farm is not only the home to a variety of farm animals, but is also home to a wide selection of wild birds.  As farmers, working with our wildlife and provide the perfect habitats for a wide range of creatures, whether that be through providing winter bird feed, from crops and hedgerows, or shelter in hedges, trees and barns, or water from ponds and other watercourses.

Throughout the year, Ridgeway is fortunate to share their home with a variety of birds; Corn Bunting, Oystercatchers, Gold Finches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Long Tail Tits, Buzzards, Kestrels, Sparrow Hawks, Black Birds, Jays, Nut Hatchers, Robin, Woodpecker Wagtails, Shell ducks, Snipe, Wood Pigeon, Redwing, Mistle Thrush, Wren, Merlin, Magpie, Barn Owl, Little Owl, Canadian Geese, Rooks, Swallows, Swifts, Chiff Chaff, Chaffinch, Tree Sparrow, Curlews and Lapwings, just to name a few.

So over the three days this is a great opportunity for you to visit the farm and see all the familiar friendly farm animals together with a winter farm walk to see which birds you can spot around the farm.  Bird related crafts and activities will take place in the Education Shed.  As it is also Farmhouse Breakfast Week there will also be an all day farmhouse breakfast which will be available from the Hatchery.
