Built in 1707 the iconic White Bull located in the centre of the village of Ribchester has recently reopened following a tasteful makeover and refurbishment emphasising the pubs historic features alongside some contemporary twists.
The pub has been reopened by the Brooks family with Bob and Marilyn (mal), original owners some 25 years ago, working in the background supporting son Chris in the venture.
The pub offers relaxed dining areas alongside a more formal dining room locals bar and stables room as well as a completely secure garden overlooking the roman bath house at the rear of the property.
The river ribble is at the end of the street and leads onto an interesting section of the ribble way including the many roman features the village is famous for.
Families are very welcome, their speciality milkshakes are a real favourite amongst younger visitors. The sign outside “dogs and muddy boots welcome” is gratefully accepted by walkers both 2 and 4 legged!
The pub is open all week and offers both a traditional 2/3 course lunch menu alongside a small seasonal menu of classic and regional dishes using seasonal and locally supplied products. On a sunday the signature dish of rare sirloin and low and slow brisket has become a firm favourite.
There is a unique barista coffee service area built into the stairway and the local coffee and homemade desserts are a real treat.
The traditional pub offers a fantastic range of local ales,a gin list featuring locally produced gins and a unique wine list developed alongside the award winning Whalley wine shop.
Bookings can be made online through the website or by calling the pub directly on 01254878048.
The White bull also operates three beautifully appointed en suite rooms above the old stables accessible both internally and from a private entrance.
