Blog (Days Out) - Visit Lancashire

The Olympics have well and truly started and with Team GB already doing us proud, we already know it's going to be a fantastic year for sport. If watching it has got you in the mood for sport, then Lancashire is the perfect place for you to visit this summer. 

The weekend will be here again before we know it and there's so many exciting events taking place across our county including plenty of family friendly events as well as the return of the fantastic Nestival at Brindle Distillery.

This weekend Visit Lancashire will be attending the National Festival of Making in Blackburn, where will be showcasing a range of delicious food and drink providers in our Taste Lancashire tent.

One thing Lancashire is well known for is its historic houses, with castles, manor houses and stately homes now open to the public as wedding venues, restaurants, museums, art galleries and more.

The first of the two long weekends in May is upon us, and Lancashire has so much to offer to visitors and residents alike.

With a massive 137 miles of coast to enjoy in Lancashire, it’s no wonder that so many people come to the region in search of some seaside fun.

This week we celebrated National Farm Animals Day by collating videos of some of Lancashire’s cutest farmyard residents, from piglets to lambs, buffalo to goats.

As we wave goodbye to the colder months, we say hello to everything that spring has to offer in Lancashire. Amongst the newborn lambs, blossoming trees and rejuvenated landscapes of this beautiful county, you can always find something to do especially in our great outdoors.
